Aquabrite ink is a high opacity product with excellent Lustre developed for printing on coated and uncoated paper and cardboard, e.g. envelopes, gift wrapping paper, baker bags, corrugated board and label stack
Aquabrite ink system is suitable for machines utilising doctor blade or rubber roll squeeze systems. As metallic pigments contained in the ink have a high specific gravity and can settle at the bottom of the container, the ink must be well stirred before printing. Depending on the type and set up of the machine, the print viscosity should be between 20 and 40 seconds (DIN 4 mm cup). The viscosity can be lowered by adding water. Should the intensity of the ink need to be further reduced, after setting the correct viscosity, any further dilution should be carried out with metallic varnish Due to the high mechanical stress during the printing process, the colour can lose brilliance. There should be as little ink as possible in circulation and fresh ink should be added more often. Used printing ink should be stored separately and not be poured back into the original packaging because a change in brilliance, viscosity and colour shade could occur.
Metallic inks have a limited storage life of 6 months therefore the stock should be kept as low as possible.
